Today’s Booking Through Thursday asks
Two part question: In an ideal world, what kind of book cases would you have? Built-ins? Barrister ones with glass doors? The cheapest you could find so you could have lots of them?
And … what kind of bookcases do you REALLY have?
I would have floor to ceiling, wall-to-wall, built-ins, absolutely. For some of my older or more precious books, I would have glass doors on some bookcases. I would have a library ladder on wheels, too. And the door to my library would be a bookcase as well. In reality, I have mostly IKEA Billy bookcases, with a handful of others that have been donated to us or found on the curb.
In other, extremely sad news, the embuggerance finally got him. Sir Terry Pratchett passed away this morning. I was introduced to the Discworld by my husband some 8 years ago, though I only really found myself embracing the series this past summer, when I read all of the Tiffany Aching books in the space of a week. Pratchett created a world like no other, and with literally dozens of books to his name, he enjoyed a career that many authors can only dream of. He will be sorely missed in my household, and in households around the world.
