TBR to-go and book review

With the TBR challenge ended, my self-imposed library book ban has lifted – hoorah, hooray!

I’m currently only reading one TBR, the others have sort of fallen by the wayside between classes and the holiday weekend! I am still making my way through William Least Heat Moon’s Blue Highways, I’m at p.316/426 – the end is in sight! With the half hour commutes to and from placement, I should have it done by the end of the week.

I may be relying on that commute for most of my reading over the next three weeks, actually!

Book Review

I just finished An Age of License: a Travelogue by Lucy Knisley. This is her third major work, after Relish: My Life in the Kitchen (2013) and French Milk (2008). Like the other two, I devoured this in one sitting. Knisley’s story telling, her drawings, her speech patterns (are they still speech patterns if they’re written?), everything combines for a really raw and fantastic read. I highly recommend it!
